The Senior Training Specialist (STS) is an experienced professional who possesses broad knowledge of training delivery, curriculum, content, and course development, and of learning management systems. They are capable of supporting multiple functions at a site in all of their training needs. The STS plays a key role in ensuring delivery of training needs and compliance to training needs and requirements. The STS acts as a mentor and subject matter expert (SME) to others.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training to customers of the Learning & Knowledge Management Center of Excellence
  • Assess training needs at multiple levels (e.g. site, team, etc.)
  • Guide organizations in the development of training plans, profiles, and curricula to meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to standardize training across Mission Systems sites
  • Maintain course infrastructure and materials
  • Develop and deliver new courses
  • Schedule and coordinate training
  • Update and maintain training records in the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Anticipate and prevent training gaps
  • Generate training reports and coach leaders on how to use them for action
  • Manage training-related projects or processes
  • Support other Learning and Knowledge Management team activities and commitments
  • Support sites in recording training completion
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of New Hire Training

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required
  • Comfortable navigating software systems
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to deliver on commitments and deadlines
  • Able to generate buy-in and support
  • Relationship building and maintenance
  • Capable of working with minimal guidance
  • Skill with translating learning needs into comprehensive solutions
  • Attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of training requirements and compliance
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous success developing training curricula
  • Familiarity content development tools (e.g. Articulate)
  • Competence with Microsoft Office tools, with particular focus on PowerPoint and Word
  • Familiarity with electronic assembly standards
  • Ability to teach complex concepts and course materials
  • Capacity to connect students with course materials
  • Capable of delivering of One-on-One Coaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with distance learning
  • Project management experience
  • Facilitation of working group
  • Previous experience and success with content development tools
  • Experience with learning management systems
