Position overview

Collins Aerospace is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer Intern.  Performs a wide variety of technical tasks which requires basic knowledge of engineering techniques and beginner experience using mechanical design theory in the creation of computer models to determine design solutions for electronic equipment and systems. Candidates may assist in the modifications of engineering design prototypes and/or first article electronic equipment in preparation for production design release of product. Candidates may also assist in the creation of design documentation and release of documentation into the enterprise business systems. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare PC Design layouts, revisions or CAD library symbols per verbal instructions, electrical inputs, existing hardware or engineering lab models, received from both mechanical and electrical engineering and/or other technical support personnel to create circuit card assemblies incorporating

Collins Aerospace best practice for fabrication, assembly and testability.Interface and troubleshoot printed circuit designs, revisions and CAD library symbols with Manufacturing, Engineering and PWB fabrication vendors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
