Ground Support Equipment (GSE) provides an extensive complement of test equipment, tools, repair manuals, and training, in support of both commercial and military applications all over the world.  Within the GSE organization, we have the resources and expertise to design, manufacture and support our products for our diverse aerospace customer base. 

The GSE organization is currently seeking an experienced Program Manager (PM) to be involved in all aspects of the program, from working with a customer defining requirements to delivering the equipment.  This includes all product life phases including a Statement of Work (SOW) with the customer, proposal development, leading the design team, and/or managing the activation phase of the program.

The GSE organization is integral to all the Collins Aerospace business segments.  The organization works in close alignment with the following businesses: Electric Power Systems, Engine & Control Systems, Air Management Systems, Propellers and Airframe and Global Engine Controls, with growth potential into other Collins Aerospace business units.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads small to medium sized programs or a single program to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs under his/her responsibility.
  • Accountable for the P& L of the program to ensure profitability targets are met, and manages a select amount of vendors.
  • Maintain milestones, program plans, schedules and budgets for programs to ensure that the organization’s objectives are met.
  • Prepares plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the program(s), and manages value-stream strategy and progress.
  • Monitors strategic planning efforts for moderate and/or difficult programs.
  • Identifies potential problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources, changing contractual specifications, and coordinating responses to customer action items.
  • Supports the development of new business growth strategies.
  • Supports the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operation budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests.
  • Directs all program phases from inception through completion.
  • Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
  • Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Coordinates the negotiation, proposals, business plans, budgets and contracts for programs.
  • Establishes cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.


  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a US Person, this includes Green Card holders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience
  • Engineering Degree
  • Engineering background both mechanical and electrical
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings
  • PMP certified
  • Financial background
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20%
