Collins Aerospace is searching for a talented ECAD Harness Routing Designer for our Windsor Locks, CT facility to perform detailed 3D Harness Routing utilizing Creo's Cabling work bench. The ECAD Harness Routing Designer will own the Modeling, Drafting, Standards and Completions of complex Harness routing.


Job Description:
The Harness Routing Designer – will perform detailed routing from schematics and work alongside highly experienced Electrical Engineers through various phases of the design process.


Desired Technical Skills:

  • Creating a Harness

  • Modifying a Harness

  • Creating a Subharness

  • Reading in Logical References (Optional)

  • Using Logical References

  • Importing Logical Data

  • Adding Spools Wires and Cables

  • Creating Spools

  • Adding Wires and Cables

  • Using Ribbon Cables

  • Designating Components

  • Designating Components as Connectors

  • Assigning Entry Ports

  • Routing Cables

  • Using a Simple Route

  • Routing via a Network

  • Autorouting

  • Modifying a Route

  • Proficiency with Mechanical CAD modeling (CREO)

  • Knowledge of fabrication processes, producibility enhancements, and inspection and validation methods


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree from an accredited institution and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Experience and confidence training and coaching others in Design of Harnessing including the development of classroom and virtual training material

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal (classroom, strategy presentations) and written (technical writing for reports, specifications, presentations, etc. using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to lead teams on company-wide strategic initiatives to advance employees

  • Experience in Mechanical/Electrical design across all part lifecycles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is preferred
