The technical writer pro-actively creates work instructions, standards and procedures that will be adhered to on the manufacturing floor.  This person will also be responsible for the methodology and document templates for creating processes and standards. This role prepares and/or maintains documentation pertaining to user training records and other user documentation. The technical writer translates business specifications into user documentation. The success candidate plans, writes and maintains user support documentation activities. This role will need to be familiar with standards and process used in both a manufacturing and an engineering setting.

Essential Functions

Create documentation methodology and framework.  Create document flow diagrams and value stream maps. Create work instructions for the manufacturing floor. Develop and create training curricula as appropriate. Document training curricula.

Competencies

Understanding and proficiency in technical writing Organization skills Communication Proficiency Attention to detail Adaptable to changes in priority Able to work in a team setting Initiative Able to write instructions in common simple English.

Basic Qualifications:

•     An AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.  In the absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required. US Citizenship or Permanent Residence required. Work experience in an aerospace or related field

Preferred

Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel Proficient in Visio 2013
