Role Overview:


This position is for an individual who can share their experience in workmanship & quality throughout Mission Systems in the role of a Trainer. Works as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility. May manage training related processes and/or projects. Uses experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to continuously improve quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training for Manufacturing and Quality personnel
  • Maintain course materials
  • Schedule and coordinate training
  • Update and maintain training records as required
  • Generate training reports
  • Recommend opportunities to improve course materials based upon quality issues experienced in the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Ability to teach complex concepts and course materials
  • Capacity to connect students with course materials
  • Capable of delivering of One-on-One Coaching
  • 5-years of experience in a Class III Electronics Assembly Environment
  • 2-years of experience in PCB Assembly – SMT and Through hole
  • Experience delivering training – Practical and Theoretical
  • Experience in PCB rework – SMT and Through hole
  • Ability to earn IPC certification(s)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Experience with soldering tools including: hot tweezers, hot air reflow, preheater for component assembly and removal
  • Familiarity with electronic assembly standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability and willingness to travel to multiple sites
  • 10-years of experience in a Class III Electronics Assembly
  • 5-years of experience delivering training in an electronics assembly environment
  • Experience in a heavily regulated operations environment
  • Current IPC certification(s)
  • Knowledge of electronics assembly standards
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Practices
  • Knowledge and Experience in Mechanical Assembly including: lock wire, torque tools and application, use of gauges and measurement devices
