Role Overview:

Under direct supervision, performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Tasks


· Perform mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
· Perform inspection and maintain qualified operator program (QOP) certifications.
· Perform rework.
· Perform unique assembly processes.
· Accurately read blueprints.
· Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools.
· Demonstrate proper use of electrical measuring devices.
· Demonstrate proper use of mechanical measuring devices.
· Accurately read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions.
· Take ownership of accuracy of processes.


Customer Focus


· Meet internal and external customer deadlines as determined by team.
· Build parts that meet drawing specifications.
· Comply with applicable elements of quality systems (ACE).

Project Work


· Work successfully in a team environment.
· Handle multiple tasks.
· Acquire applicable skill/knowledge/certification as required.
· Comply with safety and hazardous waste disposal programs.
· Participate in continuous improvement efforts (ACE).
· Understand end use of manufactured product.
· Demonstrate flexibility to meet deadlines and quality requirements.

Special Projects


· Train others for technical tasks.
· Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
· Understand and use computer tools such as SAP and accurately follow work instructions.
· Achieve special process certification where applicable.
· Demonstrate a proactive role in problem solving.
· Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE).

Communication


· Interface with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge or resolve problems related to business issues.
· Effectively interact with others.


Participation


· Participate in cost reduction plans.
· Participate in waste minimization efforts.
· Participate in audits.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent GED
    Minimum Experience: 1-3 years
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructions.
  • Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.
  • Ability to focus on safety and quality is extremely important.
  • Must be highly motivated and dedicated to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel may be required for this position.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Safety glasses and other safety equipment are required depending on task.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including over forty hours a week as needed.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold Government Secret Clearance if required.
  • Be part of the FAA Drug and Alcohol pool if required.
  • Communication and Comprehension Skills: (The level needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Production experience is preferred.
