This position is for a lead Quality Technician who works under moderate supervision. Conducts complex quality analyses and inspections. Leads lower level staff in review and analysis of corrective actions and process reengineering. Oversees testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of products.

  • Inspect items before shipment to determine airworthiness status and ensure parts are to engineering drawings and standards.

  • Complete FAA paperwork accordingly and in a timely manner to assist the warehouse in on-time delivery to customers.

  • Assist customer service representatives in customer concerns and complaints with FAA paperwork and procedures.

  • Assist in new programs relative to meeting FAA/ODA requirements throughout the company.

  • Work with Return Goods department on FAA issues and determining status of returned parts.

  • Assist Quality with corrective action analysis, PFMEA support.

  • assist the FAA ODA group in multiple locations across Collins Aerospace.

  • Assist update/maintain the FAA ODA manual and any other paperwork pertaining to the ODA group

  • Participate in yearly FAA audit and assist in conducting internal FAA audit.

  • Support in new programs throughout the company that could impact the FAA group.

  • Work with Return Goods department on FAA issues and concerns.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree and 3 years experience

  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior FAA knowledge/interaction/activity. Three years of quality experience in an aerospace, manufacturing environment, or similar experience in industries that manufacture and assemble complex precision products.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work with other software applications (e.g. SAP) as necessary.

  • Blueprint knowledge.

  • Passage of the FAA ODA Unit Member training.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Basic Manufacturing knowledge.

  • Experience with SAP.

  • Moderate GD&T knowledge.

  • Familiar with and have experience in the following areas: First Article inspections, In process inspection, Final Assembly inspection, Special processes, Destructive and nondestructive testing, Manufacturing processes, Assembly processes, quality system knowledge.
