We are looking for a strong Commodity Manager in support of Landing Systems a part of Mechanical Systems.
***Remote work will be considered***
Responsible for the development and execution of commodity and supplier development strategies for direct product that supports the strategic objectives of the Business Unit and Company
Conduct RFQs and perform bid analysis
Conduct LTA negotiations
Drive cost reduction projects
Organize efforts with regards to supplier performance improvements, expedite requests, and Supplier onsite support on critical recovery plans
Work with Operational Procurement, Engineering and Program Management to ensure the successful introduction of new programs and successful transfer of production requirements to new suppliers
Lead multiple buy to buy, buy to make, and make to buy projects
Collaborate with leadership from other Business Units and the corporate commodity organization to develop broad based commodity or supplier strategies
Drive special projects with Suppliers and cross-functional teams across the organization
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required
Aerospace/Automotive/Industrial experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Supply Chain practices and Commodity Management
Strong analytical skills (MS Excel)
Ability to effectively communicate and present to senior leadership
Comfortable working in a fast pace environment with shifting priorities
Demonstrated team building, leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong negotiation skills
Demonstrated success in developing project plans and managing these projects through to successful execution, including overcoming obstacles
Technical or manufacturing aptitude
