This position manages a large team of both experienced professionals and team leaders in Manufacturing Engineering. Leads projects and resolves production problems, develops operating budgets, monitors industry trends, and recommends investments to improve the organization's production capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the recommendations of engineers to ensure that they are accurate and consistent with the organization’s short-term production plans.
  • Leads complex, large, or difficult process engineering projects and develops innovative approaches to production problems.
  • Develops and monitors operating budgets for the process engineering unit in order to maximize cost effectiveness and ensure standards are met.
  • Monitors industry trends and developments in engineering technology to anticipate changes and review opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluates and recommends investments in equipment, systems, or other assets in order to improve the organization’s production capabilities.
  • Establishes the process for identifying opportunities or implementing changes to improve products or reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Directs engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of facilities.
  • Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops project engineering staff to ensure their work meets established targets and standards.
  • Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing.
  • Such design and development may include new or revised processes.
  • Develops procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
  • Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment.
  • Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science and 8 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Experience with chemical engineering or high temperature metallurgy

  • Experience with high temperature coatings
