Collins Aerospace seeks an Computer Science Intern with experience in software design, coding and debugging. The intern will gain exciting real-world software engineering experience at a thriving company. We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. The ideal intern for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative.

Examples of the types of project work that may be supported by this role include:

  • Web based application development
  • Information modeling
  • Advanced visualization
  • Lightweight desktop visualization
  • Gaming technologies

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of operating system, computer architecture, and software engineering fundamentals and will have good interpersonal communication and teaming skills, good technical writing skills, and display the following character traits:  passion for learning, creativity, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Assess new application ideas
  • Research state-of-the-art industry offerings
  • Develop applications (coding, programming)
  • Interview beta testers and incorporate into UI

Requirements

  • Pursuing Computer Science/Network Engineering or Software Engineering major
  • Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
  • Experience programming (C, C++, Java, R, Python)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft suite
  • US Citizenship is required
