Avionics Test Engineering is seeking to fill a Staff Engineering position with a highly motivated individual who is passionate about designing, developing and deploying world-class production test equipment.

Test Engineering offers an array of innovative test equipment solutions for Collins Aerospace products and programs. We serve internal customers, including our manufacturing and service centers, as well as external customers – domestic and international.

The primary responsibility for this position is to develop and maintain test solutions. The individual who fills this position must have strong acumen in designing and building both Hardware and Software solutions for Test Stations as well as troubleshooting and problem solving skills. This position will heavily utilize software development and debug skills on multi-rack automated test stations. Typical test stations include components such as switch systems, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, power supplies and other RF or digital related equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design, code, test, integrate and document production test software for Aviation Products as per the customer requirements like Acceptance Test Procedures

  • Responsible for supporting legacy test stations, both hardware and software that are being utilized in a production environment or at service centers. Perform root cause analysis on Production failures

  • Design test hardware including fixtures, cabling and circuit cards

  • Design and develop Test software application

  • Integrate Test solution (hardware and software) with Product Unit (Unit under test)

  • Verify Test results are accurate, repeatable and reliable; provide analysis of test results as needed by working with engineering

  • Prepare and present project and/or technical information to peers, internal management and project stakeholders

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (i.e. mechanical, software and systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

    Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

    In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

  • Have good communication, documentation, and collaboration/teamwork skills

  • ​Science, Technology, Engineering or Math degree required.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming experience in C#/C++/LabView)

  • Hardware design experience (preferred experience in NX Mentor Graphics or VISIO)

  • Fundamental knowledge of RF and digital electronics

  • Work experience in developing Test Station design and development

  • Familiarity with Visual Basic, Turbo Atlas

  • Experience with Requirements development and familiarity with tools like JAMA or DOORS

  • Familiarity tools like ALM JIRA & Confluence, SVN/GIT (software version control)

  • Familiarity with Boundary Scan technologies and tools like ASSET, JTAG, XJTAG
