Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior level material review engineer. This position will support the Cargo handling systems in Jamestown, ND.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the analysis and disposition of non-conforming military and commercial aerospace products
  • Capable of analyzing complex dimensional nonconformances.
  • Strong understanding or Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5M-1994 (drawing interpretation)
  • Perform a Liaison function between Manufacturing and Design Engineering
  • Work with Quality, Design, Manufacturing & Stress Engineers to determine root cause failure analysis when required.
  • Identify repeat rejection situations, create presentations that clearly convey the problem and initiate internal company and external customer design change requests to address the problem.
  • Work across a wide range of programs, parts (mechanical and electrical), materials (metallic & composites) and finishes/coatings.
  • Interact with internal customers, external customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to present to customers and levels of leadership internally & externally.
  • Assist with Standard Work processes to continuously improve process and work instructions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience required with Siemens Products (Team Center, Unigraphics)
  • Preferred experience with Dassault Products (CATIA V5, CADAM)
