Collins Aerospace Aerostructure is looking for a Senior Manager of Operations, Strategic Bomber Programs who will be responsible for overseeing operations for the Military Strategic Bomber programs including EH&S, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Quality Control, Material Planning & Logistics, tactical Supply Chain, Finance and HR. You will interact with both internal and external customers at multiple levels within the organization. 

**Will need to work onsite in Foley, AL**

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost and organizational development
  • Maintains compliance to all regulations, laws and management systems requirements
  • Proactively reduces EH&S risks and promotes safe behaviors in the workplace
  • Manages capacity, demand, & resource plans to ensure rate readiness
  • Supports the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to meet OTD and financial targets
  • Ensures successful implementation of new program development activities / Collins Management System (CMS)
  • Develops maturity of Business Intelligence tools in support of efficient material flow in the value stream
  • Integrates tactical & strategic supply chain activities to manage risk and leverage spend
  • Manages objectives for operating budgets, capital plans and cost savings targets in an Earned-Value Management (EVM) environment
  • Achieves inventory turns improvements and manages manufacturing variances     
  • Ensures effective implementation of product and manufacturing technologies
  • Identifies and executes mfg. technologies & world class mfg. initiatives aligned with the 5-yr strategic plan
  • Champions change through the active personal support of CI tools and processes
  • Drives employee engagement / positive culture, and executes strategic workforce planning initiatives
  • Standardizes best practices across operations and the overall organization
  • Executes a robust talent management and succession planning process
  • Provides the necessary coordination of activities with internal and external suppliers and customers
  • Actively promotes RTX within the community and seeks opportunities for involvement

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities
  • Experience communicating and making presentations to senior level leadership
  • Experience developing and motivating personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth
  • Participative management philosophy, “Lead by example”
  • Experience building effective teams
  • MS PowerPoint-create presentations
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI)
  • Experience with ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military manufacturing operations experience
  • Project EVMS tool experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Master’s degree in science or business
  • Chemical processing, machining, metal fabrication or composites manufacturing experience
  • Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) experience
  • Demonstrated experience implementing world class manufacturing techniques
  • Lean manufacturing, Six-Sigma or ACE experience
  • Experience with single piece flow in a mixed model production environment
  • Demonstrated experience with new program introductions (NPI)
  • SAP experience
  • Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) customers
