Collins Aerospace is looking for a passionate entry level Software Engineer with programming and virtual reality (VR) experience to provide technical excellence in the development of new and adding features to existing VR applications and visualization tools. You will be involved in all stages of the development life-cycle across various applications. Tasks will include designing software solutions for complex systems, implementing software solutions from existing designs, software documentation and testing.

Position Overview

Candidate will work with internal customers and team members in a technologically advanced and challenging field supporting the development of new features and functionality across multiple applications related to manufacturing, producibility, training, and marketing. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal communication and teaming skills, good technical writing skills, and display the following character traits: passion for learning, creativity, and self-motivated.

Examples of the types of project work that will be supported by this role include:

  • Web based application development
  • Information modeling
  • Advanced visualization
  • Immersive technologies (Virtual and augmented reality)
  • Lightweight desktop visualization
  • Gaming technologies

Candidate must have experience:

  • Comfort with Python
  • Web applications development
  • Database experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development within the Unity game engine and Visual Studio environment (involving C# and .NET programming)
  • Integration of commercial VR hardware and devices (including headsets)
  • Ensuring code meets requirements
  • Debugging issues in the lab
  • Creating and executing tests
  • Creating, leading and participating in code peer reviews
  • Supporting product integration
  • Collaborating and working with remote peers
  • Demonstrating feature prototypes to internal customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math Discipline, and less than 2 years prior relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required
