Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization has an opportunity for a summer intern on the Global Chemical Regulation Compliance Team. Chemical regulations are expanding worldwide, and Collins Aerospace is committed to providing our customers with safe and environmentally friendly products that are compliant with all relevant regulations and customer specifications. The ideal candidate should have an educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent curriculum.  We are seeking a candidate with a passion for problem solving, satisfying customer needs, and assisting with green product design initiatives.

The successful candidate will have exposure to many of the following:

  • Understanding of engineering technical drawings
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work independently or within a team
  • Perform in cross-functional team
  • Enjoy problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Positive attitude and eager to learn and improve

Responsibilities may include:

  • Review engineering design documentation and extract key attributes
  • Assist in the development and performance of engineering calculations
  • Assist in the development of use cases to establish system requirements
  • Run test cases to help evaluate developmental software to manage design information

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
