The KC-135 Platform Systems Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineering Intern to perform aircraft-level systems engineering tasks as a member of our Platform Systems Team.
As an Engineering Intern you will get to interface with a multifunctional team comprised of systems engineers, hardware engineers, and software engineers. The candidate selected will be involved with the development of aircraft avionics for the US DoD fixed-wing market. The opportunity will entail verification of system and subsystem requirements by creating and running functional tests in laboratory test facilities, utilizing a combination of simulations and interfacing subsystems. In addition, the candidate may assist in other elements of the system engineering process such as requirements analysis and capture, system/subsystem design, software requirements definition, and software/hardware integration.

This position requires you to work in a restricted facility that requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card), able to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
Able to travel up to 5%
Adaptable to changes in assignments and responsibilities
Ability to collaborate well across multiple disciplines
Highly self-motivated and contributing to a positive work environment
Time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience & Skills
Knowledge of avionic systems architectures and functions
Experience with software tools (Python, ADA, Matlab)
Experience with system engineering (requirement and test case development and test)
Experience with electronics equipment and testing
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, ALM, DOORS, Subversion, PREP, and Agile development methods
