The role is responsible for performing and leading all phases of software engineering for SCADA and Train control software operations including requirement analysis, design, development, code, unit test, system integration, and field installation support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform software design and development

  • Work with and extend existing components to implement client requirements

  • Participate in requirement analysis

  • Lead code reviews

  • Interact with end customer on technical issues

  • Mentor junior engineers

  • Conduct all activities according to organizational processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in C and Java

  • Experience with DBMS such as MS SQL or Oracle database

  • Experienced in Agile and Waterfall SDLCs

  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Able to work independently and within a team

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR  an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR  In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and at least 

  • Experience with SCADA Control Systems

  • Enjoy problem solving and committed to delivering high-quality software

  • Interface with external data sources

  • A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

  • Positive attitude and eager to learn and improve

  • Cloud Based programming experience

  • Knowledge of Erlang

  • Experience with design patterns
