The role is responsible for providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Enterprise Network Services (FENS) program. The FENS program will manage a team of approximately 100 networking professionals supporting over 42,000 services/circuits providing highly-available, secure networking capabilities required by the FAA to support its continuing mission of providing the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performance, operation, and maintenance of all services and enterprise-level functions provided under the FENS program

  • This position will serve under the guidance of the FENS Program Manager and will be responsible for overall management of the O&M managed services support for the program

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the Operations and Maintenance Plan supporting all FENS network infrastructure, and communications services.

  • Oversees large-scale multi-discipline team, providing 24x7 operations support, monitoring, and service desk operations

  • Lead the team that provides an Enterprise Operations Function through the FENS FAA User Portal giving authorized Government personnel read-only visibility and situational awareness /into the operational status of FENS services, their real-time performance, and performance history

  • Lead service delivery innovation to improve the O&M managed services

  • Work with O&M support professionals to ensure necessary changes are made to the solutions that resolve problems and improve the operational functionality that help improve overall program performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in the operations management of services in mission-critical environments

  • Experience managing enterprise-level operations, including implementations of ITIL best practices

  • Experience managing large service centers that provide support to a large customer base

  • Experience communicating with the Federal Government

  • Experience in the delivery of IT service and projects for all end-users

  • Experience with analysis, planning and implementation of ITSM initiatives

  • Must possess ITIL Foundation Level Certification (ITIL Expert preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR  an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR  In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a Public Trust Clearance
